Turning off the lights

Turning off the lights
I caught a glimpse
a sparkle of the moon
winking at me from the snowy deck.

An interstellar constellation
brought to rest.

I connected the invisible lines
and heard
a joyous hallelujah
etched in diamond notes.

What do I want for Christmas?

This.

I'll string them
around my neck
fasten them in my ears.
I'll spray them into my hair
brush them on my eyelids.
I'll dab them on my lips.

So when you see me
you'll know
that moonlight shines
within my soul.

When we kiss
jewels will sing.
Embraced
in the diamond of
everything.
